Sandra joined Planting Justice in June 2024 as the Nursery Educator and lives on unceded Ohlone land in Richmond. She brings with her an immense passion for nature, conservationism, working with young people, and social justice. With a background in environmentalism, she is an ambassador of change who constantly promotes growth and awareness of the dynamic role sustainability plays in our present and future. As a person who grew up in the Bay Area, she has seen the community shift around her and is inspired to continue to be an integral part of the local work being done with Planting Justice to cultivate stewardship. Sandra is an active volunteer for multiple organizations and enjoys spending her free time in her garden with her wife and cats.
I have seen myself in the best, best headspace in my life. I’m not drinking no more. I’m eating healthier. It took me to come here, to be here, to really learn to love myself again.
