Perfume Quince

Perfume Quince aka Chinese Quince (Pseudocydonia sinensis) makes an all-seasons great ornamental, as well as producing huge blocky fruit weighing up to 11/2 pound each. Fruit is tart and good flavored, used for sauces, preserves and juice. It also is very fragrant, hence its name. Placing one fruit as part of a centerpiece on the dining table will scent the whole room with its delicious smell. Beautiful rose-pink flowers in the spring, followed by huge showy fruits and then striking red and yellow fall colors. Beautiful flaking bark in brown, green and gray tones make for all winter attractiveness. Can be almost evergreen in mild climates. Hardy zones 6-8.
